NEW SALES MANAGER

Colin Craggs (formerly of Thermo Fisher UK) joins Air Monitors as Sales Manager (Industrial Products) effective January 4th 2010. Colin has over 20 years experience in environmental monitoring instrumentation and his background as an industrial chemist enable him to use his expertise for the benefit our clients. "Colin and I worked on the same team over 25 years ago and I am very pleased that circumstances have allowed us to work together again. THERMO FISHER APPOINT AIR MONITORS AS UK EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR

In light of the continued challenging global economic pressures and a review of its Air Quality global commercial operations, Thermo Fisher Scientific UK Air Quality Instruments division is ceasing direct sales and service operations in the UK.

With immediate effect, Air Monitors Ltd will assume exclusive distribution for the air quality products in the UK. This change provides UK customers with a well established source for Thermo Fisher air quality products, backed by a fully trained and experienced service team. Thermo Fisher Scientific UK customers with current supply or service contracts will be contacted directly in the next few days, to ensure continuity of service.

RAE SYSTEMS APPOINT AIR MONITORS AS DISTRIBUTOR

Air Monitors has been appointed as distributor of Rae Systems products for the UK. Rae systems offer a wide range of gas detection systems for toxic gases, combustibles, oxygen, VOC's and radiation. Instruments for personal protection, portable units and fixed area monitors are available many with ATEX certification making them suitable for use in hazardous areas. Many sensors and monitors in the range feature wireless technology making it possible to deploy sensors over a wide area making them suitable for emergency response situations or venue protection.
Air Monitors will offer the range of products for speedy delivery backed by our workshop and field service capability. Applications support will be available and demonstration can be arranged on request. Existing Rae users can make use of our service facility which aims to provide fast efficient service at a reasonable cost.

AURN Service

News Release May 2009 - At the first time of asking Air Monitors Limited have been succesful in a bid to service instruments on the Automatic Urban and Rural Air Quality Monitoring Network. For the purposes of the bid the network was split into five parts. Air Monitors have been awarded two modules.

These two modules make Air Monitors responsible for the instruments that are affiliated to the AURN but located within sites owned and operated by Local Authorities. The majority of the instruments are TEOM FDMS for PM10 and PM2.5 that have been installed over the past 6 months. This is a prestigious appointment that places Air Monitors Limited as one of the top air quality instrumentation suppliers in the UK.

News Release Jan 2009 - DEFRA deploys FDMS in National Networks - DEFRA has begun deployment of FDMS monitors in the AURN. 30 systems have been purchased including 12 complete units and 18 upgrades for existing TEOM monitors. These will be deployed at sites across the network. As well as providing information about PM10 levels across the UK without the need for a correction factor, the units will report, for the first time, information about the nature of the PM. The FDMS is uniquely able to measure both semi-volatile and core material within the PM mix providing clues to its origin and assist in a better understanding of health effects.
